A lookbook, not a profile service
Sely is a local tool for logging outfits of the day and street-style inspiration. You may photograph a look with the camera, import a full-body or street image from your library, tag it as OOTD or Inspiration, add a style such as French, Street, Minimal, Vintage, or Resort, choose an occasion, write optional notes, mark favorites, review Style DNA, keep a daily ritual and streak, browse grid, timeline, or calendar views, shuffle Inspiration Dice across looks you already saved, edit details, and share a Look card when you choose to.
You do not create an account, sign in, or maintain a remote user profile to use these functions. There is no password, membership file, or server-side wardrobe identity associated with Sely. This notice therefore describes on-device records, system permissions, optional tracking authorization, and the limited situations in which content leaves the app at your request or when a page is loaded over the network.
We do not claim that Sely processes no data. Photos you capture or import, the labels you attach, and certain device signals described below are processed so the lookbook can work.
Looks that remain on your device
When you save a look, Sely stores the image together with style, category, occasion, notes, favorite status, and the date you assign. Those records live in local storage on your device so you can filter, search, open a weekly highlight, backfill a calendar day, and rebuild your Style DNA mix. Preferences that remember onboarding completion and similar local settings are also kept on the device.
Sely is built so the lookbook can be used without uploading your outfit photos to a Sely-operated gallery. Deleting a look in the app removes that record from the lookbook on that device. Uninstalling the app typically removes locally stored looks as well, subject to how the operating system treats app data and any copies you separately saved or shared.
Permissions tied to capture and review
Sely requests only the device capabilities needed for the flows above. You may refuse a permission; the related capture or save step will not complete until you allow it, while browsing looks already on the device generally continues.
- Camera. Used when you capture today's OOTD or another look from Today's Look Ritual, Add Photo, or a similar entry point. The camera is not left running in the background for unrelated scanning.
- Photo library (read). Used when you choose an existing image as an outfit or street-style inspiration. Sely accesses items you select rather than silently browsing your entire library.
- Photo library (add). Used if you choose to save a generated Look card into Photos so you can keep or share it further.
- Microphone. iOS may present a microphone notice when the system camera interface is opened. Sely does not record, store, or upload audio, and does not use the microphone as a standalone feature.
You can revoke these permissions later in iOS Settings. Doing so does not erase looks already stored in the app, but it will block new captures, imports, or saves that depend on the permission you turned off.
Tracking prompts and stability signals
When you open Sely, the system may present an App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, the device identifier for tracking (IDFA) and limited interaction data within Sely may be used in aggregate to improve stability, identify issues, and prioritize work on the flows you use most, such as Today's Look Ritual and photo capture, importing inspiration from the library, look categories and occasion tags, style filters and Style DNA, Inspiration Dice, calendar backfill and streaks, favorites and Lookbook browsing, and generating or sharing Look cards.
For example, if aggregated signals show that many people encounter errors when importing a look or sharing a Look card, that information can help focus testing and fixes. This permission is not used to serve advertising, and we do not sell personal data. If you decline or later disable tracking, you can still keep a lookbook, tag styles, and review the calendar.
Sely does not currently include a separate third-party analytics SDK. Apple system frameworks handle the tracking authorization prompt. Whether any identifier is available depends on your iOS choice.
Moments when Sely leaves the device
Most lookbook work stays local. Network activity occurs in defined cases:
- Loading this privacy notice or the user agreement in the in-app web view, which retrieves a remote page.
- Using the system share sheet after you tap Share on a look, which sends the Look card image to an app or service you pick. Recipients then process that image under their own terms.
Sely does not operate a social feed, cloud wardrobe backup, or public street-style community. If another app, browser, or operating-system service receives content you send, that transfer is initiated by you or by the system, and we cannot control how those parties store it.
How long records stay
Outfit images and metadata remain until you delete the look, clear app data, or remove the app, unless you have exported a copy elsewhere. Local preferences remain for as long as they are useful to the app on that device. Tracking-related identifiers, when authorized, are governed by Apple's platform rules and by your Settings choices rather than by a Sely account retention schedule, because there is no Sely account.
We do not promise a particular backup of your lookbook. If the device is lost, reset, or restored without a backup you control, looks kept only inside Sely may be unrecoverable.
Choices you can make
You may edit tags and notes on a saved look, unfavorite it, delete it, refuse or revoke camera, library, and tracking permissions, skip sharing, and stop using the app. Because there is no remote account, there is no separate "download my cloud wardrobe" or "close my Sely membership" process. Younger users
Sely is a style-logging tool aimed at a general audience interested in outfits and street inspiration. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek photos or notes from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has stored content in Sely on a device you control, you may delete those looks or uninstall the app. Where applicable laws set a higher age of digital consent, use of Sely should occur with appropriate guardian guidance.
Outfit photographs may depict a person. Sely does not ask for government identifiers, health data, or other sensitive categories as a condition of keeping a lookbook. You should not use the lookbook to store information you would not want on an unlocked phone.
Care we take with device data
Looks are stored with the operating system's ordinary app sandbox. We take reasonable steps appropriate to a local lookbook, including limiting permission use to the features described. No mobile app can guarantee that a lost, shared, or compromised device will never expose photos. Protect the device with a passcode or biometric lock if your outfits are private to you.
When this notice changes
If Sely's functions or data practices change in a way that this notice no longer describes, we will update the hosted page. Continued use after a revised notice is posted means the then-current text applies, except where applicable laws require a different method of notice. The date at the opening of this page is the date this version takes effect.
